bravo to brian ellner for his great campaign ad. it's made waves simply because at the very end he says 'and this is my partner simon.' i met brian very briefly at a couple different events, and he's a really nice guy.
i also met margarita lopez at a fundraiser over the summer and had the chance to speak with her. my friend genarro asked why we should vote for her instead of brian, and i have to say that her fierce passion completely won me over. while she acknowledged that brian is a really nice, great guy, margarita has a much deeper, insider understanding of city government, having been in city council since 97. she stressed that brian just doesn't have the years of experience and clout behind him to really make a difference as borough president.
